Choosing Vanities For Bathrooms

Choosing Vanities For Bathrooms

I hope you have picked out the excellent vanity. You have chosen yoy style from antique or modern or somewhere in between. What next?
Oke if you could to do it yourself it's time for installation. We will give you the basics on how to make installing vanities for bathrooms easy and enjoyable.
Firstly is removing the old vanity to make room for the new one. Start by looking to see how the old one is attached. Usually you will find it is attached to the wall with screws. How about the top? These can very heavy and are sometimes screwed to the base and other times they will glued.
Before you go any further make sure the water is turned off to the bathroom. If you are not able to do this, be safe and simply turn off the water to the entire home. Once this is done, you'll be ready to unhook the plumbing on the vanity from the plumbing in the wall. At this point you are ready to pull it away from the bathroom wall which might require a little muscle especially if it has been caulked well and been in place for many years.
Now you're almost ready to put in the new model. But first be sure to make sure there are no repairs to be made like holes in the walls or tears in the floor. Once that is done you can bring in the new vanity.
The most difficult part will be creating new holes that will match with the plumbing coming out of the wall. Vanities for bathrooms are made so that the back is easy to cut to do this. One tip is to remove the handles from the hot and cold plumbing so that the holes you cut can be smaller. You can put the handles back on afterwards.
Now you are ready to screw the vanity into the wall and lay the top on. The new fixture should easily connect to the old plumbing. Not much has changed in that department over the years as you'll have hot water, cold water and the drain.
